Patria subsidiary Senop has announced that its Advanced Fire Control Device Thermal Imager (AFCD TI) has been fully qualified for use with the Carl-Gustaf M4 and M3 weapon systems.

The AFCD TI is the first intelligent sight qualified for both the Carl-Gustaf M4 and M3 systems. Notably, it is the only system that consolidates all performance-critical features into a single casing. With an integrated day camera, thermal camera, laser range finder, and ballistic calculation capabilities, the AFCD TI provides a comprehensive solution for users.

The development of the AFCD TI has been a collaborative effort with professionals from Saab.

One of the key advantages of the AFCD TI is its ability to offer multiple performance-enhancing functionalities within a single device. Unlike traditional solutions that rely on separate day sights and Clip-On night optics, the AFCD TI integrates optronics, ballistic calculation, and communication with modern rounds, enhancing the first-round hit probability for both moving and stationary targets.

The device's lightweight design, weighing only 1.7 kg, coupled with its user-friendly interface, ensures optimal usability in various battlefield conditions. Furthermore, Senop is committed to continuously updating the AFCD TI to meet evolving user requirements and adapt to changing battlefield conditions.

"Programming of the new HE 448 round is also possible with AFCD TI. The ballistics of new ammunition can be easily updated to the AFCD TI as well," said Antti Lommi, head of product management.
