The US Navy has awarded the future submarine science and technology research effort contract to General Dynamics Electric Boat, the Department of defense announced Thursday.
According to the contract, Electric Boat will perform investigations to develop and demonstrate technology for Navy submarines.
“General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton, Connecticut, is being awarded $8,788,219 for cost-plus-fixed-fee modification P00023 to previously awarded contract (N00014-13-C-0187) for the future submarine science and technology research effort. With the award of this modification, the total cumulative value of this contract is $23,453,010,” the statement says.
Work will be performed in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Groton, Connecticut; Pawcatuck, Connecticut; Airmont, New York; Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; and future performance in Mystic, Connecticut. Work is expected to be completed December 31, 2018.
This contract was competitively procured under Office of Naval Research Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) 12-001 Long Range BAA for Navy and Marine Corps Science and Technology.
