Russian Firm Signs Contract with Defense Ministry for Supply of Upgraded Obereg Body Armor

The Tula Oktava plant, managed by RT-Capital of the Rostec State Corporation, has signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense to supply a large batch of Obereg (“Amulets”) body armor, now enhanced with an expanded protection area.

The new "Amulets," meeting military requirements, have a protection class of BR-4 and can stop armor-piercing bullets from 7.62x39 mm and 5.45x39 mm cartridges. The protective elements include ceramic armor plates and aramid fiber packages, which protect against fragments and allow use without armor plates in certain scenarios.

Pavel Pavlenko, General Director of Octava, stated, "Obereg body armor will be delivered to the Ministry of Defense in a modernized version with an increased protection area of over 50%. The base version has a protection area of 70 dm2, ensuring comfort and mobility for the wearer."

The "Amulet" features superior ergonomics, distributing weight evenly to reduce spinal strain and allowing prolonged wear without impeding mobility. The base modification is lighter than most market alternatives.

The equipment maintains its protective properties in extreme conditions, including water immersion and temperatures from -40 °C to +40 °C.

High-quality individual protection for servicemen is especially needed today in areas of special military operations, such as Ukraine.
