DW : In terms of the LCA project how is HAL prepared to start the production phase of the aircraft? What are the next steps in the project. Are there any partnerships with Indian / International firms to help in the project?

Mr. P. Soundara Rajan: Production facilities have already been set up at HAL for the LCA in the current configuration. HAL have gained considerable experience through the Limited Series Production and no major road blocks are expected in the transition to the series production phase. HAL is not envisaging any partnerships in the production phase at present. However, there would be some consultancy based partnerships to expedite the flight evaluation

DW : Is there a partnership proposal between HAL and Saab to manufacture electronic warfare components for helicopters? If so, what is the status.

Mr. P. Soundara Rajan: Saab is the OEM for the EW Suite selected for the ALH helicopter. HAL is in discussion with Saab for the ToT for manufacture and repairs of the EW Suite.
