North Korea has fired additional two short-range missiles on Monday, the second such launch in less than a week, according to various media reports.

The first launch saw four short-range missiles fired into sea last week, with a range of more than 125 miles (200km).

On Monday, two projectiles fired from North Korea's east coast flew about 310 miles (500km) before landing in the high seas, South Korean defence ministry official told reporters.

According to The Guardian, an initial investigation about the firing showed they were missiles, suspected to be Scud-series.

The launch is seen as a protest against the on-going annual military exercises between US and South Korea.
