The UK has barred Russian delegates from the 2014 Farnborough International Airshow due to its actions in Ukraine.

Several Russian government officials were refused visas from the UK's Foreign office preventing them from attending the industry air show.

A well informed source told defenseworld.net that the Russian foreign ministry has issued a protest note to the UK embassy in Moscow over the visa issue.

Russian trade and industry ministries and senior representatives of Russian defense corporations, Roskosmos Space, Rosaviatsia air transport agency, Rostec technologies, Irkut and Sukhoi aircraft corporations, Rosoboronexport are not going to attend Farnborough Airshow.

Not just top officials but technical specialists were also denied visas.

The Independent reported, “The British Government has made a decision to remove Russia from the list of countries that would buy British planes and equipments.”

The ban has prevented Russian aircraft scheduled to perform at the show from flying, it said. Talks with their foreign partners remain stalled due to visa refusals, Rosoboronexport told the news website.
