Time To Implement Mistral Contract Or Return Money, Russia Says To France

Russia is demanding France to either decide on the Mistral helicopter carriers deal or pay back the money already paid, Tass reported Thursday.

“There have been many statements on the part of the French defense and foreign ministers on Mistrals, but there are the contract that needs to be implemented,” Russian Defense Ministry Spokesperson, Alexander Lukashevich was quoted as saying. “Certain sums were transferred for this contract.”

“If the French side has new options, there’s no need to use methods of megaphone diplomacy,” the Lukashevic added. “If the French side has new options, there’s no need to use methods of megaphone diplomacy,” the diplomat was quoted as saying.

“And the French side should make up its mind. In the summer, there were some statements, now the talk is different. But if not, money should be returned,” he also said.
