Russia To Develop Compact Interference-Resistant Broadband Satellite Communication Systems

Russia has started development of modern interference-resistant broadband satellite communication systems to expand communication system arena of the country’s defense ministry , Maj. Gen. Khalil Arslanov, the chief of the Main Communications Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces was quoted as saying by Ria Novosti today.

"Russian Signal Troop will receive modern broadband multimedia satellite communication systems by 2020," he said.

"Special attention will be paid to the installment of ground satellite communication stations. The software and equipment, used at the stations will be synchronized into a unified system," he added.

The functionality of the equipment will be increased through the reduction of its weight and size. This will also make the communication equipment more transportable.
