Harris Corporation announced today that it has won a 4-year, C$180 million (USD160 million) ceiling contract to supply the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) with Harris Falcon III tactical radios.

Under National Individual Standing Offer (NISO), Harris will supply secure tactical radio systems including the AN/PRC-152A wideband handheld radio, AN/PRC-117G wideband manpack radio, as well as the RF-7800H high-frequency manpack radio to the Department of National Defence in support of modernization programs. The NISO will be available to various organizations within the CAF.

Brendan O’Connell, president, international business unit, Harris RF Communications said, “The radio systems will provide Canadian forces with greater situational awareness and enable end-to-end solutions that address requirements for real-time, mission-critical information on the battlefield.”

The AN/PRC-152A and AN/PRC-117G provide unprecedented situational awareness through wideband battlefield networking. Software-defined and upgradeable, the radios enable applications such as streaming video, simultaneous voice and data feeds, collaborative chat, and connectivity to secure networks.
