Argentina is likely to buy more Russian Mi-171E helicopters, Russia’s Ambassador to Argentina Viktor Coronelli said Wednesday.
“In 2011, two Mi-171E helicopters, modified for civilian use, were delivered here, which were bought by Argentina’s Defense Ministry in order to participate in and support the Antarctic campaigns. With pleasure and pride I can say that the reviews are very good, the grades are very high. Our machines proved to be very good. Today the question of a possible purchase of a second group of helicopters by the Argentinian side is on the agenda,” Coronelli was quoted as saying by Ria Novosti
“There is a possibility that three helicopters will be bought and the discussions are underway,” he added.
The Mi-171E is an export configuration of the well-known Russian Mi-17 helicopter. It is designed for a wide range of uses, including carrying over 30 passengers, carrying cargo, performing search and rescue operations and emergency evacuations.
