The United States announced a $75 million non-lethal aid for Ukraine on Wednesday, which includes about 200 unarmed High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) or Humvees and 30 armored Humvees.

Radios, unmanned aerial vehicles, counter-mortar radars, night vision devices, first aid kits, ambulances and other medical supplies are included in the aid package, according to various media.

The aid comes in addition to $118 million in nonlethal aid that was previously announced. Officials had projected that they would spend another $120 million to help Ukraine over the next year and Wednesday’s aid package appears to be a first installment on that.

At the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Tuesday, though, officials acknowledged that only about half of that original $118 million in aid had actually been delivered, and that in some cases the aid had been “unacceptably slow,” as one told the panel.

Apart from non-lethal aid to Ukraine, USA has also placed sanctions on some Ukrainian separatists, a Russian bank and others after accusing Russian-backed rebels of breaking a European-brokered ceasefire.
