Dassault aviation announced today that the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) has selected the Falcon 2000 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA) to enhance its operational fleet.
The Falcon 2000 MSA, based on a Falcon 2000 LXS (range 4000 NM), is designed for a broad range of missions including maritime surveillance, piracy control, drug interdiction, fishery patrol, law enforcement, search and rescue, intelligence and reconnaissance.
“Japan has successfully operated Falcon jets for maritime surveillance and search and rescue around the Japanese archipelago since 1989 and we are extremely honored that, once again, the Japan Coast Guard has chosen to renew its confidence in our aircraft”, said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation.
By acquiring modern and efficient new maritime surveillance mid-size jets, JCG will be equipped with a highly capable and cost effective platform developed with our partners L-3 Platform Integration and THALES.
Dassault Aviation will also provide the JCG with comprehensive maintenance support capabilities allowing the JCG to achieve a high level of aircraft availability. These support capabilities will enable the aircraft to efficiently meet the demanding operational requirements of the JCG.
