2015 French Arms Sales To Be 3 Times of 2012

France' defense exports is expected to reach more than 15 billion euros this year which is about three times of 2012 and also the highest France has reached in a single year.

“French arms exports in 2015 are expected to reach more than 15 billion euros ($17 billion), three times more than in 2012!" Jean-Yves Le Drian, French Defense Minister quoted as saying by Local media.

France saw 8 billion euros ($9 billion), 17 per cent increase in defense exports in 2014 compared to 6.87 billion euros ($8.8 billion) in 2013. France made 4.8 billion euros ($5.3 billion) in defense exports in 2012.

Dassault CEO Eric Trappier and Qatari General Ahmed al-Malki signed the contract to provide Qatar with 24 fighter jets today.

Egypt signed a 5.3 billion euro ($5.9 billion) deal to buy 24 Rafales, a DCNS multi-mission frigate and missiles in February 2015.

India in April this year agreed to buy 36 Rafales in ‘fly-away’ condition for about 5.9 billion euros ($5-6 billion). Both the countries may soon finalize the deal.
