Moog Crossbow announced last week that it has introduced the ANAV300, an Ultra-Compact MEMS Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) for navigation and guidance in civil or military platforms.

The ANAV300 includes Moog’s proprietary MEMS sensor subsystem and advanced algorithms that deliver an 8-fold improvement in gyro bias and accelerometer performance over its predecessor.

The ANAV300 supports an IMU mode where calibrated rates and accelerations (also known as DeltaV and DeltaTheta) can be output at high speed. There is also an on-board Extended Kalman-Filter (EKF) that allows the ANAV300 to operate as a high performance AHRS system.

Roger Shuler, Moog Crossbow Business Unit Director said: “The ultra-compact ANAV300 is the smallest (less than 2.3 in3) and lightest (1.5 oz) product we have on the market, making it easy to integrate into new or existing systems. The underlying algorithms also have a rich pedigree in civil and military with applications spanning air, land and sea.”

The ANAV300 is now available for order to customers worldwide, and will be showcased at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2015.
