General Dynamics announced today that it has selected Raytheon UK to provide Chassis Power Switch Node for the British Army's SCOUT Specialist Vehicle (SV) platforms.

Forming the core of the SCOUT SV platform's chassis power management and distribution system, Raytheon UK's Power Switch Node (PSN) provides the platform with flexible capability that offers 16 channels of fully protected solid state switching under the control of the platform's serial data bus.

John Kennedy Business Leader at Raytheon UK's Integrated Power Solutions unit said, "We look forward to working with General Dynamics UK as we move into the delivery phase of this essential programme which will meet the future requirements of the British Army."

The SCOUT Specialist Vehicle (SCOUT SV) provides a step-change in the Armoured Fighting Vehicle capability being delivered to the British Army. The SCOUT SV programme includes six variants like Scout Reconnaissance, Protected Mobility Reconnaissance Support (PMRS), Command and Control, Engineering Reconnaissance, Repair, and Recovery.

Each SCOUT SV platform variant will be a highly-agile, tracked, medium-weight armoured fighting vehicle, providing British troops with state-of-the-art protection.

SCOUT SV vehicles are developed upon a highly-adaptable and capable Common Base Platform, maximizing commonality in mobility, electronic architecture and survivability that ensures the British Army has a family of world-class platforms.
