India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) conducted noise measurement flight trials of Advance Light Helicopter (ALH)-Dhruv as part of the process to acquire European Space Agency (ESA) certification at Mysuru airport Thursday.
The tests involved acoustic programming and compensation for atmospheric variables against measured noise levels and in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Anotec Consulting, a Spanish company was contracted to provide hardware, software, and technical support for the program.
“The ESA representatives witnessed the entire flight test and preliminary analysis of the recorded noise data, weather parameters, and the aircraft parameters shows that noise levels are within the acceptable limits specified by ICAO for ALH,” said T Suvarna Raju, CMD, HAL.
