Boeing selects Rockwell Collins To Support Canadian CH-147

Rockwell Collins announced Thursday that it has won a contract from Boeing to provide avionics service and support for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (RCAF) fleet of 15 CH-147F helicopters.

The Rockwell Collins Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) cockpit is featured on the CH-147F Chinook helicopter, which was delivered by Boeing to the RCAF in 2013 and 2014. The contract takes effect immediately and runs through March 2018.

As part of the agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide local avionics support equipment and engineering services on behalf of the Boeing Company to the RCAF 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron.

The flexible CAAS displays are optimized to provide superior tactical and flight situational awareness through embedded cognitive decision aids that reduce crew workload and improve flight safety and survivability with a highly fault tolerant design.

The system’s embedded mission computing resources and mission systems software provide enhanced war fighting capabilities for the aviator.
