Hewitt To Replace Canadian Halifax Class Frigates' Generator

Hewitt Equipment Limited has won a contract from the Canadian Department of National Defence to replace the Diesel-Electric Generator sets of the Navy's Halifax Class Frigates, located on both the East Coast and the West Coast of Canada.

The contract announced on Wednesday also includes the provision of In-Service support. The initial contract period of ten years covers Acquisition of the DG Sets and In-Service Support, with options to extend for up to twenty-two years.

Hewitt will execute this contract in conjunction with its subsidiary Atlantic Cat in the Maritimes and through a teaming agreement with Finning (Canada) located in British Columbia.
