BAE Systems Offers Solutions Against “Zero Day” Cyber Attacks

BAE systems has announced a suite of cloud based security products designed to defend against email-based threats including targeted and ‘Zero Day’ attacks.

BAE Systems has introduced the solutions to Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

Most cyber-attacks start with an email message; Hence, the first set that the company introduces into Singapore will comprise Email Protection Services (EPS) which provides comprehensive protection against advanced threats, the company said.

The offerings to be introduced also include Insider Threat Prevention, Email Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Email Encryption, Email Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam, Email Archiving, Email Business Continuity.

“As Singapore moves towards its Smart Nation goal, a focus on cyber security is arguably the best defense companies can employ against the current wave of attacks on their critical assets,” Nick Turnbull, Director, Cyber Security, Asia, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence said in a statement Today.

“By introducing Singaporean companies to cloud-based protection in a way that is easy to buy, consume and manage, we aim to help protect those companies against today’s most sophisticated threats. Not only can cloud-based services be delivered within short timescales - dealing with threats almost immediately - but also, companies will also have the ability to scale their security up or down, as required, making them more agile in their response,” Turnbull said.

“With 70-90% of malware being unique to any single organization, the most difficult attacks to defend against are Zero Day attacks - attacks that are unknown or have not previously been seen and that, as a consequence, require advanced defense,” Adrian Blount, Director, Cyber Security Products Australia and New Zealand, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence said in a separate press statement.

“Therefore, a core element of BAE Systems’ EPS solution is Zero Day Prevention, which provides customers with the most advanced protection from today’s sophisticated threats. The technology is based on innovative and pioneering techniques which analyze the email in the cloud for malicious content and intent, before it reaches the recipient,” Blount said.

“Our cloud-based cyber security solutions leverage BAE Systems’ expertise as a leader in risk analytics and cyber defense. With this launch, we are introducing Australia and New Zealand businesses to a new kind of protection against sophisticated cyber-attacks. Because the solutions are cloud-based, they are easy to buy, consume and manage with a short delivery timeframe. And they have the inherent flexibility to scale up or down as required, so companies assess what they need and have a service which can grow with their organization,” he added.
