DCNS, KACST To Develop Saudi Naval And Maritime Research Center

French DCNS, Saudi KACST have signed an agreement to develop a naval and maritime research and development center .

The co-operation agreement signed by President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Dr Turki bin Saud Mohamed Al Saud and Chairman and CEO of DCNS, Hervé Guillou will address areas such as Intelligent marine systems, material corrosion and foiling, and simulation and modelling, DCNS said in a press statement Thursday.

Commenting on the agreement, Dr Turki bin Saud Mohamed Al Saud highlighted that signing the cooperation agreement with DCNS comes within the scope of executing the National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (MARIFAA) and KACST’s move to expand research collaboration with DCNS.

KACST aspires to have the outcome of these projects provide new solutions and innovations in naval and maritime research leading to localizing technology in the kingdom to fulfill its national needs and promote its human and economic resources.
