US Issues $50 Billion RFP For Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions

The US General Services Administration has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a $50 billion contract to provide telecommunications and IT services as part of Network Services 2020 program.

The RFP which was edited on Monday has pushed back the deadline of mid-January 2016. The Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions vehicle is intended to provide telecommunications and IT services as part of the Network Services 2020 program, replacing the Networx vehicle.

EIS according to the US GSA is a comprehensive solution-based vehicle to address all aspects of federal agency information technology telecommunications, and infrastructure requirements.

Network Services 2020 (NS2020)is GSA’s strategy for the next generation of telecommunications and information technology (IT) infrastructure services. NS2020 provides a roadmap for the future of GSA’s Network Services Programs (NSP).

EIS is planned to be the new contract vehicle offering telecommunications and IT solutions. EIS is designed to provide continuity for the Networx and the Regional Local Telecommunications Services contracts as they expire and to meet the demand for new and emerging services. EIS will provide voice, video, and data transport services, as well as hosting services, cloud services, call centers, associated labor services, cable & wiring, and network and security equipment.
