Indian Nuclear Capable Agni-IV Missile Flight Test Scheduled On November 9

India will flight test its surface-to-surface missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, Agni-IV on November 9.

The test will be carried out on the Wheeler Island off Odhisha, the Hindu news daily reported Friday.

Agni IV has been test four times earlier of which expect for the first, all the subsequent launches have been successful. It is a two-stage missile.

The scheduled tests of nuclear ballistic missile Agni-IV and AAD interceptor missile were deferred last month apprehending their impact on Modi’s foreign tour.

The missile is 20 metres long and weighs 17 tonnes. It was last flight-tested in December 2014 for a reduced range of 3,000 km.

K-4, another strategic missile that can be fired from submarines, is under development. It has a range of 3,000 km.
