Australia has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the purchase of a tracked and turreted Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) to meet the LAND 400 Phase 3 Mounted Close Combat Capability requirement.
The LAND 400 Phase 3 RFI Industry Brief will be conducted in Canberra on Friday 27 November 2015.
There will also be an opportunity for Industry representatives intending to complete a RFI submission for a one on one meeting in Melbourne on Monday 30 November 2015.
The LAND 400 Phase 2 Request for Tender (RFT) was issued on 19 February 2015 and closed on 3 September 2015. Detailed evaluation is currently underway.
An announcement of the initial short list of Tenderers selected to participate further in risk mitigation activities (RMA) is currently planned for March 2016.
The LAND 400 – Land Combat Vehicle System (LCVS) seeks to deliver to Army the next generation of armoured fighting vehicles (AFV) with the firepower, protection and mobility to defeat increasingly lethal and adaptive adversaries well into the future.
Much more than a vehicle replacement program, LAND 400 will deliver the sensors, weapons and information systems in a collaborative network able to harness the collective capabilities of our Army, Navy and Air Force.
At its foundation, the project will deliver replacements for the current in-service Australian light armoured vehicle (ASLAV) and M113 armoured personnel carriers (APC) fleets. The new AFVs delivered through LAND 400 will have complementary characteristics to the in-service M1A1 main battle tank.
The project will also provide the necessary specialist manoeuvre support vehicles (MSV) to properly enable Army’s combat brigades to undertake joint land combat. Defence will undertake an initial assessment for compliance with the conditions of the LAND 400 Phase 2 RFT.
