Turkish F-16 Shoots Down Russian Su-24 For Airspace Violation
Russian Su-24 crashes over Syria-Turkish border

Turkey claims to have shot down Russian Su-24 along the Turkey-Syrian border.

Russia has confirmed the incident. The Russian Defense Ministry said that pilots parachuted out after the aircraft was hit. The condition of the pilots is however unknown, the ministry said in a report.

Turkey warned the Russian Su-24 three times before bringing down the aircraft.

A Turkish military official told Reuters the jet was warned before being targeted, adding the plane was shot down by Turkish F-16 fighter jets. He said the plane had violated Turkish airspace.

Turkish F-16 fighters reportedly shot down the jet after it violated Turkey's airspace, according to Reuters.

Russia Claims that the aircraft was in Syrian Airspace.

The Habertürk TV channel shared footage of the purported crash, in which an object on fire is seen falling from the skies and crashing into a mountainous region.
