Paraguay May Buy Radars, Combat Aircraft From South Korea
Paraguay's Ministry of Defense recently announced that the country's military has received a number of offers for radar and combat aircraft.
Reportedly, Spain, South Korea, Israel, the United States, and South Africa have all offered early warning radars, while Brazil, South Korea, and the United States have offered aircraft. The price ranges vary for the different proposals, with the radars costing from $22 to $45 million and the aircraft costing from $105 to $140 million, Forecast International reported Monday.
Diógenes Martínez, Paraguay's Minister of Defense, traveled to South Korea at the start of January, reportedly to conclude an agreement on the South Korean offers. The type of radar was not specified, but Paraguay is considering the KT-1 basic trainer.
However, given financial limitations, Paraguay may need to assistance in financing any purchases.
