India will set up a new Army Design Bureau and modernize its weaponry.
The Indian Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Wednesday said that the Army will set up a new design bureau and is on its way to modernize weaponry.
This is the first time the Chief has addressed a press conference after the attack on Pathankot air base in the first week of January.
Singh said that all Army commanders have been asked to do security audit and submit the report. Singh however was seen concerned on increasing cyber security threat. He assured the Indian forces are working on it.
"Increasingly the security environment facing the nation is becoming more complex and dynamic. I have told all army commanders to do a security audit. In our efforts to fastrack technological progress, a new Army design bureau is being set up," he said.
