AM General Wins $10 Million Humvee Contract For Iraq

The government of Iraq has requested for an undisclosed number of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) under the foreign military sales contract from the US firm AM General.

“AM General, South Bend, Indiana, was awarded a $10,402,481 modification (P00017) to foreign military sales contract W56HZV-15-C-0155 (Iraq) for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles,” the US Department of Defense announced Monday.

Work will be performed in Mishawaka, Indiana, with an estimated completion date of July 29, 2016.  

HMMWVs serve as cargo/troop carriers, automatic weapons platforms, ambulances (four litter patients or eight ambulatory patients), M220 TOW missile carriers, M119 howitzer prime movers, M1097 Avenger Pedestal Mounted Stinger platforms, MRQ-12 direct air support vehicles, S250 shelter carriers, and other roles.
