Russia has prepared the draft copy of the agreement for the supply of S-400 air defense missile system.
Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical co-operation Deputy Chief, Vladimir Drozhzhov told media persons at DefExpo Tuesday that, " The FSMTC has prepared a draft agreement on the supply of S-400 systems to India and also passed it to our partners. We are awaiting responses from both."
India’s Reliance Defense had announced in December last year that it has entered into a manufacturing and maintenance partnership with Russian Almaz-Antey, manufacturer of the S-400 air defense missile system.
The Indian Defense Acquisition Council in December had cleared the purchase of five S-400 missile systems for an approximate $6 billion.
S-400 is an anti-aircraft system and comes with a mobile launcher and a threat detection radar/command center. The deal also includes purchase of about 6,000 missiles from Russia.
