France Orders 14 Patroller UAV For $340 Million
France has ordered 14 Patroller Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) to replace French Army’s Sperwer UAVs worth $340 million from Sagem.
The contract covers delivery of two operational Patroller systems each including five UAVs and a ground control station. The contract also includes four additional Patrollers and two ground stations for training purpose and includes a maintenance agreement for 12 years.
The contract was signed on Tuesday by Vincent Imbert, deputy director of the DGA, French defense procurement system and Safran CEO Phillippe Petiticolin.
The DGA announced in February Patroller had won the competition against the rival Watchkeeper system offered by Thales.
