Russian S-500 LR-SAM To Receive New Radio Communication Systems In 2 Years

The Russian S-500 long-range surface-to-air missile (LR-SAM) system will receive new radio communication systems in the next couple of years.

The plan to induct the anti-aircraft missile system into the Russian Army in 2016 has been moved to 2017. The missile system will receive a completely new radio system, which has no equal in quality and range of data transmission, as well as stealth, Gazeta reported quoting United Instrument Corporation (UIC) as saying earlier this month.

"At the moment the company is developing the next radio communication, the sixth generation to complete various types of military equipment, including anti-aircraft missile systems as already standing on the arms, and promising," the news daily quoted a Russian defense industry representative as saying.

The previous generation radios worked on the pre-set frequencies, increasing the likelihood of tracking and interception of information transmitted, and looking systems such situations will not be possible.

According to him, communication equipment, which today supplies to the troops corporation (eg, radio stations for medium-range air defense missile systems "Buk-M2"), already has a high noise immunity, it includes modes "pseudo-random frequency hopping and working masked communication."

"Stealth in order to conceal what people are saying, what is being transmitted, the type of information exchange and immunity to disturbances so that communications work in all conditions, even when exposed to the enemy, remains secret" Mikhail Khodarenok, an expert in the field of air and missile defense systems was quoted as saying by the news daily.

"No disturbances created by the enemy when the tele-coded information is being transmitted must affect the system's efficiency, because the command centre is in one place, the division in another and the launching pad in a third. But information must be transmitted. There are antennae that stretch out and help establish communication," he said.
