Lockheed Martin Wins $74 Million Contract For Six Japanese F-35s

Lockheed Martin has won a $74 million worth US Navy contract to maintain the planned production schedule for six F-35A Lightning II aircraft for the government of Japan.

“Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $73,800,000 modification to advance acquisition contract N00019-16-C-0033 for long lead materials, parts, components and effort to maintain the planned production schedule for six low-rate initial production Lot 12 F-35A Lightning II aircraft for the government of Japan under the Foreign Military Sales program,” the US Department of Defense announced Friday.

Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas; El Segundo, California; Warton, United Kingdom; Orlando, Florida; Nashua, New Hampshire; Nagoya, Japan; and Baltimore, Maryland, and is expected to be completed in December 2020.
