Vice Admiral Sunil Lanba, who heads the Western Naval Command, has been appointed the next Indian Navy Chief.
Sunil Lanba will replace Admiral RK Dhowan, who superannuates on May 31, Tribune India reported.
Vice Admiral Lanba served as Vice Chief, headed the Southern Naval command and the National Defence College. He has commanded minesweeper INS Kakinada, frigate INS Himgiri and has been the Executive Officer of INS Viraat.
