Sukhoi Superjet100 Purpose Built Sports Plane To Be Launched At Farnborough Airshow

Sukhoi will launch its new purpose built sports plane, SportJet at the Farnborough airshow starting 11 July 2016.

This aircraft will become the first of its kind designed for professional sport teams travel. SportJet is the first jet created to fit the needs of sports professionals, athletes and professional sports teams, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

The aircraft interior is enriched by most advanced gadgets in the science of sports to have athletes recover and rest. Technological features of SportJet include specially designed equipment and a variety of functionality for recovery, rest and preparation.

The presentation at the press-conference will focus on the sport air travel market and take a close look at outlines, sketches, photos and interior plans of SportJet. 

SportJet is due to be produced in 2018. It is based on Sukhoi Superset 100 (SSJ100) and it is specially designed and luxury version. SSJ100 will be onsite at FIA in CityJet livery. SSJ100 is a new-generation regional jet designed, developed and produced for the global market.

Dublin-based CityJet represents the first European customer operating the Sukhoi Superjet 100.The airline ordered 15 SSJ100 and further 16 options. The first SSJ100 is currently flying in Europe on the CityJet network. The SSJ100 aircraft of CityJet is in the 98-seat configuration, five abreast seating in a generous 32” seat pitch combined with a wider seat and cabin height of over 2 meters.

CityJet’s SSJ100 performed its first regular flight taking the Ireland team to Euro 16.
