Kalashnikov Begins Delivery Of Amphibious Assault Boats To Russian Special Forces

Kalashnikov has begun serial deliveries of its high-speed transport and amphibious assault boats to the Russian Special Forces.

Kalashnikov began it first deliveries of the BK-10 assault landing boat and the BK-16 multipurpose amphibious boat to Russia's Special Purpose Military Units (Spetsnaz), according to the official statement published Wednesday.

"In 2015, the Court has successfully passed the tests and were adopted by the Russian army,”said General Director, Kalashnikov, Alexei Krivoruchko.

“According to its technical characteristics and equipment of our boats are not inferior to foreign analogues, but much to gain for the price,” Alexei said.

The boat is capable of speeds up to 42 knots running at maximum power of each of the motors 780 litres, cruising range of at least 400 miles. Maximum travel speed assault boats BK-10 is not less than 40 knots, capacity Special personnel on board - 10 people, while the number of crew of 2 persons.

Boats can be equipped with weapon systems to the specific requirements and objectives. In particular, the BK-16 can be equipped with four machine guns of 7.62 mm in combination with a weapon station, or with two machine guns of 12.7 mm caliber or a grenade launcher caliber 40 mm.
