Lockheed Martin Wins F-35 Software Testing Contract Worth $101 Million

Lockheed Martin has been awarded the US Navy contract worth $101 million for F-35 software data loads for laboratory testing.

“Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded $101,970,569 for cost-plus-incentive-fee delivery order 0026 against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-14-G-0020).  This order definitizes a previously awarded undefinitized contract action and provides for additional non-recurring effort and integration efforts required in support of the F-35 Reprogramming Center West,” the US Department of Defense announced Thursday. 

As per the contract, LM will produce F-35 software data loads for laboratory testing, planning for verification and validation (V&V) test, conduct technical support of the test, design, build, and delivery of V&V modification kits and mission data file generation tools for the Foreign Military Sales customers. 

Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas; Orlando, Florida; Nashua, New Hampshire; El Segundo, California; and San Diego, California, and is expected to be completed in December 2018, the statement said. 

Foreign military sales funds in the amount of $74,121,831 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity, the statement added.
