RFI for Indian AN-32 Mission Simulator
IAF Antonov AN-32 aircraft

Indian defense ministry intends to procure one full mission simulator for the upgraded An-32 RE aircraft.

The full mission simulator is intended to be used for flying and mission training of pilots, navigator and flight engineers on all roles of the upgraded An-32 RE aircraft.

The Government of India has invited responses to the request for information (RFI) only from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)/ Authorized Vendors/ Government Sponsored Export Agencies (applicable in the case of countries where domestic laws do not permit direct export by OEMs). The end user of the equipment is the Indian Air Force, the MoD said in a statement last Friday.

The RFP is likely to be issued in the 2nd quarter of 2017 with tentative delivery in 24 months from the effective date of contract.

Availability of An-32 RE simulator in the Indian market, level of indigenisation, delivery capability, maintenance support, life time support are required to be specified by the vendor.

IAF has signed a contract with M/s Spets Techno Export, a state enterprise of Ukraine for upgrading the An-32 RE aircraft. The design and development has been carried out by Antonov Design Bureau and series production of the aircraft is being executed by IAF.

Interested vendors will need to interact with M/s Spets Techno Export and Antonov Design Bureau to ascertain and obtain the required details and data for the flying characteristics of An-32 RE aircraft. A suitable MoU/ back to back contract may need to be drawn with these companies for execution of the task.

The simulator with six degrees of motion should faithfully simulate the cockpit and flying characteristics, including all systems and weapons of the An-32 RE aircraft, in all its roles by day and night.

The delivery of the simulator is expected to be completed within 24 months from the effective date of contract.
