BAE Systems, DRS, Awarded $721 Million crew served weapons sights contract
BAE, DRS Receive $720Mln Contracts for US Army Weapons Sights

BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems and DRS Network and Imaging Systems have won US Army contracts worth $720 million for crew-served weapons sights.

BAE Systems and DRS have been awarded $383.9 million and $337 million worth contract respectively for crew served weapons sights, US department of defense announced Monday.

Bids were solicited via the Internet with three received, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 25, 2023.

Crew-served weapons operated by the US Army include high-precision rifles, medium and heavy machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, mortars with calibers less than 120 mm, anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns, shoulder-launched missiles and ground-positioned anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles. Special sighting systems are required to enhance their effectiveness.
