US To Fight Islamist Extremism Online
Islamic extremism

US has started a movement that encourages Middle East and North African moderates to raise online propoganda to counter Islamic extremism and motivate positive alternatives.

The prgram is being conducting in partnership with Facebook and the Hedayah International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism.

The program conducts workshops run by regional experts assisting participants in developing concepts for online content. Such workshop first took place in Dubai, UAE on October 24-25, US Department of State announced Tuesday.

The Department of State is also launching ‘Creative Minds or Social Good,’ a new public-private initiative to increase the capacity of private voices in the Middle East and North Africa.

The movement’s participants will create and disseminate online content to refute Islamic terrorist propaganda and promote positive alternatives in the region.
