Pratt & Whitney Wins $167 Million To Provide F135 Propulsion Systems For US Armed Forces

United Technologies Corp., Pratt & Whitney Military Engines is being awarded a $167 million contract for long lead components, parts and materials associated with the low-rate initial production Lot XI propulsion systems to the US armed forces.

The contract includes supply of 48 F135-PW-100 propulsion systems for the Air Force; 14 F135-PW-600 propulsion systems for the Marine Corps; and 4 F135-PW-100 propulsion systems for the Navy, US department of defense said in a statement Tuesday.

In addition, this contract provides for the long lead components, parts and materials associated with 41 F135-PW-100 and 3 F135-PW-600 propulsion systems for international partners and foreign military sales customers. 

Work is expected to be completed by May 2019.

This contract combines purchases for the Air Force, the Navy/Marine Corps, international partners, and foreign military sales.
