Raytheon was awarded a $48 million contract to provide maintenance, repair and support services for the advanced high frequency secure, mobile, anti-jam, reliable, tactical-terminal system.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 15, 2019.

The Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) is a low-cost, Humvee-mounted extremely high frequency (EHF) satellite terminal that provides unattended, robust, worldwide, low probability of detection, jam-resistant, multi-channel communications in support of the field commander.

A typical SMART-T application provides range extension of the mobile subscriber equipment to units beyond line-of-sight, allowing communications support of widely dispersed forces. This satellite terminal is also capable of stand-alone operation when removed from the vehicle. Setup or teardown is accomplished in 20 minutes by two soldiers. The prime power is supplied by a self-contained diesel generator. The terminal can be operated remotely and includes lowdata-rate (LDR) and mediumdata- rate (MDR) ports.
