An air force unit deployed to Russia’s Far Eastern region of Khabarovsk has has started receiving shipment of the Sukhoi Su-34 fighter bombers.

The new shipment of fighter bombers will be put in operation next academic year and will complete training and combat missions during air force drills, Tass reported on Nov 2.

Russian Eastern MD aviation unit has started to accept Su-34 fighters at the Novosibirsk aviation producing plant.

Su-34 new aircraft will be introduced in the Eastern MD aviation unit located in the Khabarovsk Krai after execution of documentation and test flights.

The Sukhoi Su-34 fighter bomber is designed to hit ground targets as well as naval ones. It is capable of engaging even small mobile targets and aerial targets in daytime and at night, under favorable and adverse weather conditions.

The Su-34 fighter bomber has been developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau Joint Stock Company in Moscow and the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association at Novosibirsk, Russia.

The Russian Air Force ordered an initial 32 Su-34 aircraft in 2008, with an additional requirement for 92 aircraft in 2012. The first two production aircraft were delivered to the Russian Air Force in December 2006.
