India Test-fires Nuclear Capable Ballistic Missile, Agni-IV
A week after India conducted tests on nuclear capable Agni-V cruise missile, the final test-firing of another nuclear capable ballistic missile, Agni-IV was conducted Monday.
The test was carried out off-the coast of Balasore, Orrisa. The missile has a range of over 4000 km. It is about 20 meters long and weighs 17 tonnes. The missile is equipped with fifth generation on-board computer and distributed architecture.

India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed five version of the Agni series over the past 30 years. The Agni 1 has a reach of 700 km; Agni 2 is 2,000 km; Agni 3 is 2,500 plus and Agni 4 is 3,500 km. These are in various stages of inducted, induction and trials.
