StandardAero has won a contract from the US Air Force (USAF) to carry out Rolls-Royce T56 engine maintenance.

Under the one-year 'bridge' contract, StandardAero will be the sole T56 engine depot for the USAF and the US Navy in 2017.

The contract covers T56 overhaul, while the USAF prepares for a future commercial competition that will result in a multi-year maintenance contract, StandardAero said in a statement.

This contract marks the third consecutive year that StandardAero will perform all depot maintenance for the U.S. Navy’s engines that power its fleet of P-3, C-130 and C-2 aircraft.  StandardAero has also performed T56 engine maintenance for the U.S. Air Force since 1999.
