Belgium took delivery of its final NH90 Caiman helicopter in naval version on Monday.
The helicopter, the 8th aircraft ordered in June 2007, landed in the afternoon at Koksijde air base, military sources told RTBF Belgian Broadcasting Corp.
Registered RN-04, it joined the other three Caimans in naval version in service since 2015. These helicopters will replace, from next year, the venerable Sea Kings of 40th Squadron for Search and Rescue (SAR) missions.
Defense also acquired four NH90s in Tactical Transport (TTH) version, painted green to distinguish them from the gray-painted NFH naval variants. The TTHs operate from Beauvechain air base, with within 18th Squadron.
