Paraguay, Chile Keen To Buy Russia's Ansat Multirole Helicopters

Paraguay and Chile have approached Russia with a request for acquisition of Ansat light multirole helicopters.

Brazil also shows interest in this helicopter, Deputy General Director of Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport Sergei Ladygin was quoted as saying by TASS Wednesday.

"The Russian helicopter industry is indeed developing new specimens. Mi-38, Ansat and advance Mi-171A2 can be mentioned among them," Ladygin added.

Requests for delivery of Ansat helicopter has been received recently from Chile and Paraguay," Ladygin said.

The multi-purpose light helicopter Ansat is built to a classic single-rotor design with a four blade main rotor and a two-blade tail rotor.

The Ansat was developed in line with the latest AP-29 (FAR-29) Category A regulations, and meets high safety standards.

The Ansat comes in different models, one with the latest fly-by-wire flight control system and the other with the traditional hydro mechanical control system, with the latter certified by the Interstate Aviation Committee’s Aviation Register (AR, IAC).

The total flight time of helicopters made by Kazan Helicopters plant exceeds 50 million hours. Kazan Helicopters has delivered over 12000 Мi-4, Мi-8, Mi-24, Мi-17, Ansat helicopters (and their modifications) to various countries.
