Boeing has been awarded a $144 million contract to provide training systems upgrade for P-8A Poseidon aircraft for the US Navy and the government of Australia.

“The Boeing Co., Seattle, Washington, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $144,939,328 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract N00019-14-C-0067 for production concurrency upgrades for the P-8A Multi-Mission Maritime aircraft training system in support of the Navy and the government of Australia,” the US Department of Defense announced Friday.

The training system upgrades are required for the training devices to be fully functional, ready for training and to meet future mission capabilities, the statement said.

Work is expected to be completed in February 2018.
