A Russian MiG-31 military plane crashed in the Russian Republic of Buryatia, western Siberia with no causalities.
The MiG-31, believed to be the fastest fighter jet in the world crashed during a training flight over the Telemba Airfield. A helicopter has been dispatched as part of the search and rescue operation.
The plane crashed in a deserted place. Both pilots ejected. The pilots have been recovered quickly, there is no danger to their lives," according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s preliminary information was quoted by Express UK Wednesday.
The jet can reach a maximum altitude of 30,000 meters and can intercept targets by flying at speeds of up to five times the speed of sound.
The crash comes just a week after Russian military aircraft were seen flying off the coast of Alaska for the fourth time in four days.
