LONDON, United Kingdom BAE Systems is pleased to announce two new appointments to its senior management team; Raj Rajagopal becomes Managing Director, Corporate Responsibility and Deborah Allen becomes Deputy Managing Director, Corporate Responsibility.>> Raj and Deborah will be responsible for the Companys Corporate Responsibility (CR) remit which will ensure the highest standards of corporate responsibility and ethical business conduct across BAE Systems. They will lead a team that will develop, implement and embed, the wider CR agenda encompassing safety, health, environment, sustainability, inclusion and social and community issues and reputational risk throughout the organisation. This builds on a CR programme within the Company which is overseen by a board committee chaired by non-executive director, Andy Inglis.>> Ian King, Chief Executive, BAE Systems plc, said: These are two critically important promotions which reflect the fact that corporate responsibility and high ethical business standards are absolutely central to everything that we do as a business and a key element of executive performance. I will continue to personally take responsibility for ensuring the Companys commitment to this agenda and in Raj and Deborah, we have appointed two outstanding business leaders to oversee this work. This is further evidence, after the appointment of the Woolf Committee and endorsement of all its recommendations that ethics matters for BAE Systems as a global leader.>> Raj will report directly to the Chief Executive, Ian King and previously held the position of president at Ground Systems, part of the Land and Armaments Operating Group. During his tenure, Raj positioned the business as a leading player in the US Armys largest modernisation programme - the Future Combat System, as well as leading the highly successful Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) family of vehicles programme.
