Swedish Defence Procurement Agency Orders 18 Combat Boats

Sweden’s defence Procurement agency, FMV has ordered a new batch of Combat Boats 90H, in an upgraded variant which will be operated by its Amphibious Battalion.  

The new boats called ‘Stridsbåt 90 HS series’ are upgraded with driveline, protection, the ability to work with weapons from tires, and preparation for new management systems and weapons stations. The estimated life of the new combat boats is beyond 2040.

The order value amounts to approximately SEK 400 million and includes 18 boats and documentation, training, spare parts and options. The first boat will be delivered in the third quarter of 2018.

Combat Boat 90 is in service in the earlier H and HS versions. They are used by the Amphibious Department, Navy bases, and Home Security.
