A Cyber-security event in Ukraine will challenge participants with simulated hacking of presidential elections in 8 countries.

The "HackIT-2017" to be held in on September 23 in Kharkov, Ukraine, is expected to be attended by cyber security experts from all over the world, according to its organizers.

"The best specialists will be given the opportunity to take a direct part in the Cyber Guard project, namely the creation of a cyber-security center in Ukraine according to NATO standards," said Egor Aushev, head of the national cyber security project.

It is interesting to note that Russia has been accused of hacking into the US presidential elections last year and more recently into the French general elections, though no direct links between Russian government or state agencies with the alleged hacking has found.

The event will see discussions on key events for the year – latest cyber-weapons, cyber-espionage techniques and cyber-threat prevention.

Ukraine’s Ukrinmash, together with other participants, will present detailed presentation, in particular on cyber defense mechanisms in the public and financial sectors, IT-business and other sectors.
